An elected official yielded illegal drugs and unlicensed gun when arrested by policemen in an anti-drug operation in this city, the police reported.
Supt. Rogelio Alabata, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) spokesperson, identified the arrested official as Erico Rivera, 42, a councilor in Barangay Mampang, this city.
Alabata said Rivera was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Estrada Drive, Barangay Mampang.
He said the arresting team confiscated from the possession of Rivera an unlicensed caliber .45 pistol with four live ammunition; three small-sized sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu; Php 300 marked money of Php 100 bills; and, a mobile phone.
Supt. Nonito Asdai, Police Station 6 chief, disclosed that Rivera was listed as a high-value target in the drug watch list of his office. (PNA)
