Puerto Princesa vice mayor’s home raided

Police have conducted an anti-drug operation inside the home of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan Vice Mayor Luis Marcaida.

The raid was done at about 6 am Monday in Marcaida’s residence at Janaca Road in Barangay Bancao-Bancao.

The operation yielded firearms including a .22-caliber rifle, three rifle grenades, a fragmentation grenade and four .45-caliber pistols.

Police also said they found 30 sachets containing white substances believed to be shabu.

Marcaida is undergoing booking process at Puerto Princesa Police Office.

The raid was jointly conducted by operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement, a drug enforcement team from Camp Crame and the local police.

The operation was launched on the strength of a search warrant issued by Manila Regional Trial Court.
