The United Overseas Filipinos Worldwide (U-OFW) conveyed on Sunday its congratulations to the Duterte administration for producing advertisements depicting clear messages that illegal drugs are society’s menace that everybody needs to avoid and if possible help combat.
It can be recalled that on Friday, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) released two anti-drug ads depicting two main characters – that of a father who is a drug addict and an OFW mother who has a drug addict son.
“The anti-drug ads could easily connect to each and every one of us because it is not just realistic but also the messages it intend to convey is crystal clear and that is ‘walang mabuting idudulot ang illegal na droga at ang paggamit nito’,” said John Monterona, convenor of U-OFW.
Monterona added that the advertisement about an OFW mother who has a drug addict son is not only effective but also “very touchy.”
“Nakakabagabag at nakadudurog ng damdamin. I don’t want that to happen to me. I have two daughters who are in high school and a son,” Monterona said.
He said that generally, no OFW parents will want to see their children fall into drug addiction.
“By all means, at kahit malayo tayo sa ating mga anak, we want them safe from the drug menace,” he stressed. (PNA)
