Police arrested a suspected member of the Maute Group, who sought refuge in an evacuation center in Saguiaran town, Lanao del Sur, at the height of the clashes in Marawi City.
Chief Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac, police director of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), said the Maute member was arrested after he was identified by another Maute Group member who was collared several weeks ago.
He identified the arrested Maute member as 38-year-old Lala Arafat who was collared Sunday night.
Seized from him were 12 identification cards bearing different names.
Sindac said Arafat was immediately taken to the nearby police station for debriefing.
Arafat will be charged with rebellion, Sindac said.
