ILOILO CITY – A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck Leyte and other parts of the island, as well as the island of Panay, only this morning.
According to the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the earthquake center was recorded at nine kilometers south of Ormoc City in Leyte.
It is one kilometer deep and tectonic in origin.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo Iloilo, Engr. Reynaldo Antioquia of Phivolcs in Capiz, which is one of the aftershocks of the magnitude 6.5 quake that hit Leyte last week.
Intensity 5 was felt in Ormoc City.
Intensity 4 in Mayorga, Leyte and Tacloban City; Mandaue City in Cebu.
Intensity 3 in Cebu City while Intensity 2 in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu; Palo, Leyte and even here in Iloilo City.
