Heavy monsoon rains left Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur and other areas in Abra and Cotabato flooded over the weekend, according to a report on Unang Balita on Monday.
Floodwaters almost waist-deep submerged crops and affected some houses in Pagadian City.
Motorists had to deal with slippery roads caused by heavy monsoon rains enhanced by Typhoon Gorio.
Meanwhile, Abra River overflowed due to heavy rains brought about by Tropical Storm Huaning.
Fishermen who braved the strong current to go fishing had to be rescued and be loaded on a raft to cross the river.
Continuous heavy rains also worsened the situation in Poblacion Tres in Cotabato City.
The area has been flooded for almost three months to date.
Some residents have put up a temporary evacuation center.
Although the city has been placed under a state of calamity, residents said assistance has not been immediately given.
