A drug syndicate member died in a shootout while two others escaped in the government’s continuing anti-drug campaign targeting high-value target drug personalities in Zamboanga Sibugay province.
Senior Supt. Romulo Cleve Taboso, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the slain drug syndicate member as Lincon Limpsasan, who succumbed to gunshot wounds.
Taboso said the shootout occurred during a buy-bust operation around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday in Barangay Bualan, Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Taboso said Limpasan pulled a handgun and opened but missed his target after discovering the person he transacted is an undercover policeman.
He said the suspect was rushed to the Oluntanga Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
He said two unidentified companions of Limpasan managed to escaped.
He said the arresting team recovered from Limpasan’s possession a caliber. 38 revolver with ammunition; a fragmentation grenade; PHP600 cash including PHP200 marked money consisting of PHP100 bills; 12 small-sized heat-sealed plastic sachets containing methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu; 13 big big-sized plastic sachet of shabu; and, prohibited drug paraphernalia.
He said the slain suspect is list as high-value target drug personality being a member of a drug syndicate based in Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay. (PNA)
