A COALITION has asked the Justice department to investigate the possible criminal liabilities of former President Benigno Aquino III and two other former officials over their alleged involvement in the illegal multi-billion-peso Disbursement Acceleration Program during their term.

The coalition of anti-pork-barrel groups led by former Manila Councilor Greco Belgica on Friday urged the department to investigate the alleged DAP anomalies after submitting pieces of evidence allegedly showing the misuse of the DAP funds, which the Supreme Court had voided and declared unconstitutional.

The coalition also asked the department to investigate Senator Antonio Trillanes IV over the same case.

The Coalition for Investigation and Prosecution led by Belgica and Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption founding chairman Dante Jimenez turned over to the department records from the Department of Budget and Management showing what they said were questionable expenditures from Trillanes’  DAP funds.

The documents showed that Trillanes received a P245 million in DAP funds in three tranches  of P100 million, P50 million and P95 million.

Belgica’s group submitted to the office of Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II records of the Budget department on the DAP expenditures during the previous administration.

“We were also able to gather information from several witnesses showing various anomalies in the DAP,” Belgica said.
