Court employee, 2 others fall in Ipil, Zambo Sibugay anti-drug operations

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Sept. 17 (PNA) – Combined police and military operatives have arrested three drug personalities, including a government employee, in separate anti-drug operations in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay.

Sr. Supt. Romulo Cleve Taboso, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the arrested suspects as Rowie Quimno, 40, a utility man of the municipal circuit trial court in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay; Romeo Berinquel, 22; and, Regie Lacad, 28.

Taboso said Quimno, the number five drug personality, was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5:20 a.m. Friday in his residence in Barangay Don Andres, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Taboso said that Berinquel was arrested while he was at the residence of Quimno when the lawmen carried out the buy-bust operation.

Confiscated from Quimno and Beinquel were Php 500 marked money, three heat-sealed plastic sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu, and prohibited drug paraphernalia.

Taboso said Lacad was arrested in a separate buy-bust operation around 4:35 p.m. Friday in Barangay Lumbayao, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

He said Lacad, whose name appeared in the drug watch list, was caught red-handed selling shabu to an undercover policeman in exchange for Php 200.

Recovered from the suspect were a sachet of shabu, Php 200 marked money consisting of two Php 100 bills and other prohibited drug paraphernalia.

Taboso said that appropriate charges will be filed against the three arrested drug personalities. (PNA)
