A VILLAGE official, who is also a religious leader, was killed in a gun attack in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported on Tuesday, July 25.
Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula (Western Mindanao), said the incident occurred around 8:10 a.m., Monday, in the village of Poblacion, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur.
Galvez identified the victim as Zabana Omar Mustafa, 39, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot. She said investigation showed that Mustafa was driving motorcycle when the suspect, aboard on another motorcycle without registered plate number, repeatedly shot the victim with a caliber .45 pistol.
She said the suspect fled towards the municipality of Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur. She said recovered from the crime scene were six empty shells and four slugs of caliber .45 pistol.
