THE police authorities arrested two high-value target drug personalities in anti-drug operations carried out during the observance of All Souls’ Day or the “Undas” on Wednesday, November 1 in the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur.
The Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula identified the arrested drug personalities as Rey Carpila, 35, and, Michael Diaz, 28.
The police said Carpila, who was a drug surrenderee, is the number three in the provincial level’s drug watch list while Diaz is one of the high-value target in Pagadian City.
Carpila was arrested around 3:30 a.m. in a joint drug bust in the village of Madalag, Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte.
The police seized the following: five plastic sachets of suspects methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu,” P1,000 marked money consisting of two P500 bills, P300 cash comprising of one P200 and P100 bills, a mobile phone, a wallet with plastic identification card, and, one disposable lighter.
Hours later Diaz was arrested in another drug bust at 12:30 p.m., in the village of Tuburan, Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur.
The police confiscated two small-size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu,” P200 marked money consisting of two P100 bills, and, prohibited drug paraphernalia.
The police said the two arrested high-value target drug personalities were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them.
